There’s nothing like beginning the morning with a scenic run along the Potomac river. The West End is located in close proximity to many running trails in the DC area. The C&O Canal Trail begins at the Georgetown Visitor Center and features amazing views of the Potomac River and surrounding greenery. Take the trail as far as you like – it spans 15 miles and leads all the way to the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center.
After you’ve worked up an appetite, head to Bluestone Lane for a delicious breakfast. This Australian cafĂ© is conveniently located directly downstairs from the Apartments at Westlight and has an ideal patio for enjoying the sun. If you’re craving something sweet try the warm coconut quinoa and oat porridge, topped with seasonal berries, banana, and Husk Bakeshop gluten-free granola. Feeling a dish more on the savory side? The Bluestone Lane Rainbow Bowl is packed with fresh vegetables, lentils, feta, poached egg and avocado with a turmeric ginger yogurt dressing. Pair your meal with a cold brew coffee or trio of wellness lattes to fuel the rest of your day.
